Its become a generally accepted fact that the Aviation Industry is the worst polluter.
Air Malawi, is now focused on doing its bit. We invite all stake-holders to join forces with us to tackle the Environmental Issues in a not so conventional way.
Our approach is slightly different; We teamed up with Impact Africa (an Hourglass Initiative) to launch an aggressive push towards sustainable reduction of Green House gases.
Instead of buying carbon credits, we want to create more Green Spaces and enable the development and use of Green Technology in Africa.
This way, we do more about our Environment and transform our communities. So, quite simply, we levy a $1 green tax on every ticket. Air Malawi, Hourglass & Wirecard match that by a $1.50 and the total sum is then managed by a Green Fund, with the proceeds used exclusively for Green Project in our communities.
These projects are determined based on need and through a collaboration and consultation with all our Stakeholders – ie passengers, Investors and our communities.
